Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

  1. Promoter
    • This promotion is run by ScottishPower Energy Retail Limited, a company registered in Scotland (Company number: SC190287, VAT number: GB 659 3720 08), with its registered office at 320 St. Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5AD (“ScottishPower”) for Eligible Customers. By taking part in this promotion, you agree to be bound by the following terms (the “Terms and Conditions”).
  2. Prize Draw
    1. The title of the promotion is the “Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw”.
    2. The Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw is a prize draw that is free to enter for all Eligible Customers (see the eligibility criteria set out below at Clause 4).
    3. All Eligible Customers who choose to enter the Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw will have the chance to win a meet and greet with Sir Chris Hoy at a special event at ScottishPower’s headquarters (320 St. Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5AD) on Friday 29th August 2025 (see Clause 3 below).
  3. The Prize
    1. There is one meet and greet for two people with Sir Chris Hoy at a special event at ScottishPower’s headquarters including travel to Glasgow and overnight accommodation up to the value of £1000, plus item(s) signed by Sir Chris Hoy available to be won.
    2. The Prize is not negotiable or transferable.
  4. Eligibility
    1. The Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw is open to ScottishPower customers who receive the summer 2025 ScottishPower and Cancer Research UK partnership email communication and:
      1. have clicked the ‘Enter now’ button contained within the email between receiving the email on 21 July 2025 and 3pm (GMT) on 6 August 2025 (the “Entry Period”);
      2. are resident in the Great Britain; and
      3. have provided ScottishPower with a valid and current email address and postal address and are not:
        1. customers who are employees of ScottishPower or employees of any companies in the ScottishPower group;
        2. accounts where the holder is listed as “occupier”, “council” or “void”; and/or
        3. accounts that ScottishPower has received a notification of cancellation or termination
    (“Eligible Customers”).
  5. Winners
    1. The winner of the Prize will be drawn at random by a verifiable computer program after 3pm (GMT) on 6 August 2025 (the “Draw Date”).
    2. Should the winner of the initial draw fail to claim the Prize within 10 days of the Draw Date, the unclaimed Prize shall be redrawn, and the subsequent winner shall have 7 days from the redraw date to claim. Should the Prize remain unclaimed by the end of this process, the Prize will be permanently withdrawn.
    3. ScottishPower must make available information that indicates that a valid draw took place. In order to comply with this, ScottishPower shall make available on request the first initial and surname and county of the winner. This information can be obtained by emailing cancerresearchuk@scottishpower.com.
    4. If a winner objects to their name and county being made available, they should email ScottishPower at cancerresearchuk@scottishpower.com with "Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw objection" in the subject line as soon as possible and, in any event, within 14 days of the Draw Date. Please note that if an objection is received, ScottishPower will not make the winner’s name and county available unless there is a legal requirement to do so. It is a legal requirement to provide this information to the Advertising Standards Authority if so requested.
    5. ScottishPower may ask for proof of a winner's identity. If a winner is unable to provide adequate proof of identity, ScottishPower may withdraw the Prize and select another winner using the process described at Clause 5.2.
    6. ScottishPower will retain any appropriate evidence relating to the Prize Draw for audit and review purposes for a period of two years after the Draw Date.
  6. Claiming the Prize
    1. ScottishPower will contact the winner within 5 days of the Draw Date, using the email address listed on the winner's ScottishPower account (as per Clause 4.1). ScottishPower will continue to make reasonable efforts to contact the winner up to a maximum of 10 days following the Draw Date. If it has not been possible to contact the winner within this time, the Prize will be deemed unclaimed and redrawn in accordance with the procedure set out in Clause 5.2 above.
    2. The Prize must be claimed by the winner and cannot be claimed by a third party on the winner’s behalf.
    3. ScottishPower does not accept any responsibility if a winner is unable to claim the Prize.
    4. The winner may be asked to take part in reasonable publicity related to the Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw. If the winner agrees, ScottishPower may use the winner’s picture for any reasonable and related promotional purposes.
  7. Limitation of Liability
    • Insofar as permitted by law, ScottishPower will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate a winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, disappointment, personal injury or death occurring as a result of claiming the Prize, except where it has been caused directly by negligence on the part of ScottishPower. Nothing in this clause will affect the statutory rights of a party who seeks to rely on these Terms and Conditions.
  8. Data Protection and Publicity
    • In relation to the Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw, ScottishPower will process Eligible Customer personal data for the purposes of the Prize Draw and to address any queries about it. More information about how ScottishPower manages your personal data, including how to exercise your data protection rights, is available in the Privacy Information Notice at www.scottishpower.co.uk/privacy.
  9. General
    1. If there is any reason to believe that any Eligible Customer has breached these Terms and Conditions, ScottishPower may, at ScottishPower’s sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude that Eligible Customer from participating in the Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw or any other prize draw or competition.
    2. ScottishPower reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions at ScottishPower’s sole discretion.
    3. ScottishPower reserves the right to void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw where, at ScottishPower's sole discretion, it becomes necessary to do so with immediate effect and without liability to Eligible Customers.
    4. ScottishPower reserves the right to correct any technical errors in the administration of the Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw (including, but not limited to, the failure of the verifiable computer program used to administer the Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw) with immediate effect and without liability to Eligible Customers. Where a technical error delays the Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw being completed by the Draw Date, ScottishPower shall reschedule the Sir Chris Hoy Meet & Greet Prize Draw to a new date at its sole discretion. ScottishPower shall use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the new date is as close as possible to the date on which the Draw Date should have been completed.
    5. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Scotland, and ScottishPower and anyone who seeks to rely on these Terms and Conditions submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
    6. These Terms and Conditions are effective from 21st of July 2025.
